What
must I do to be saved?
1. ACKNOWLEDGE: (YOUR SIN)
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans
3:23).
2. REPENT: (OF
YOUR SIN) "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out" (Acts 3:19).
3. CONFESS: (YOUR
SIN) "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteous ness" (1 John 1:9).
4. FORSAKE: (YOUR
SIN) "Le t the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his
thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord…for he will abundantly par
don" (Isaiah 55:7).
5. BELIEVE: "For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only be gotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)
6. RECEIVE: "He
came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His
name" (John 1:11,12).
WHAT TO PRAY: Dear
Lord Jesus I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins. Right now I turn
from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I receive you as my
personal Lord and Savior. Through the help of the Holy Spirit I will serve you
all the days of my life.
WHAT
IS SALVATION?
John 1:11-13 He came to
his own and His own received him not. But as many as
received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on His name: which
were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God.
The
Philippians' jailer in the book of Acts asked Paul and
Silas, what must I do to be saved? (Acts 16:31) This
question has echoed down the corridors of time until
this present day. The plan of salvation is simple yet
to many it is perplexing.
This
passage of scripture in John chapter one, teaches us how
one finds salvation from the power of sin. The answer
is found in these verses. The issue of salvation is
treated negatively then positively.
As a
preface to the treatment of the manner of salvation, we
read this declaration: “to as many as received him, to
them gave he power to become the sons of God.”
Praise God, there is a way that one can find eternal
salvation. There is a way that we can be adopted into
the family of God. There is a way we can obtain a
righteous standing before a holy God.
Please turn your attention to John 1:13..
"Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the
flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Here
we read three ways (Click

child of God, and only one way by which we can obtain
salvation.
